Rhean presents the matchball

A highlight from the home game against Cheltenham last Saturday was 12-year old brain tumour remission patient Rhean Williamson Shield presenting the matchball to the referee. It was our absolute pleasure to arrange this and to meet Rhean's family. The prize was donated by our member and winner Roger Gould, who couldn’t make the fixture on this occasion, due to a longstanding personal commitment. Roger asked if we could possibly find a recipient affected by a brain tumour, as very sadly Roger lost his own son, Jo, to a brain tumour. Rhean's father Callum reflected on the day on Facebook.

The PA message prior to the game was as follows: ‘A warm welcome to Rhean Williamson Shield, aged 12, from Northstowe, here today with his dad, Callum and nannie, Mylo, presenting the matchball to the referee. Rhean is celebrating being in remission from a brain tumour. A huge thank you to CUFC Lottery winner, Roger Gould, for donating his prize, having sadly lost his own son, Jo, to a brain tumour’.
